How to Stay Safe at Hyderabad Airport

Never accept a ride from anyone who approaches you inside the terminal. Unauthorised taxi touts are active at RGIA, particularly targeting passengers late at night or those unfamiliar with the city. Always use the HAC prepaid counter, the designated Ola/Uber pickup zone, or a pre-booked service.

The HAC counter is inside arrivals — you will pass it before the exit doors. Pay at the counter, take the receipt, board only the matching cab. Do not pay extra to the driver. Always confirm if the ORR toll is included in your quoted fare.

The ORR Toll Surprise

Most routes use the Outer Ring Road (ORR) which has a toll plaza. Ola/Uber adds this charge (₹130–180) at the end of the trip — it does not appear in the upfront estimate. HAC may or may not include it. TaxiBazaar always includes the ORR toll in the upfront fare.

Late Night Arrivals (after 11 PM)

Hyderabad's late-night Ola/Uber availability drops significantly after midnight and surge pricing can be extreme. HAC applies a fixed night surcharge — far more predictable. For any flight landing after 11 PM, pre-booking a fixed-fare cab is the most reliable option.
