The right choice depends on your destination within Delhi, the time of day you travel, and current traffic conditions. Our drivers know both and will recommend based on your specific drop point.
~300 km • 5.5–6.5 hrs typical
Dehradun → Haridwar (54 km) → Roorkee → Muzaffarnagar → Meerut → NH 58 / Delhi Meerut Expressway → Delhi
The most direct and fastest route under normal conditions; the Delhi–Meerut Expressway (NH 58) from Meerut to Delhi is a 6-lane access-controlled highway with a 110 km/h speed limit and no tolls on cars; the fastest section of the journey.
~310 km • 6–7 hrs typical
Dehradun → Saharanpur (90 km) → Muzaffarnagar → Shamli → Baghpat → Delhi (via NH 709)
Slightly longer in distance and time; avoids Meerut city completely; better approach for destinations in West Delhi (Dwarka, Janakpuri), South Delhi (Lajpat Nagar, Vasant Vihar), and IGI Airport via NH 48 without the inner Delhi Ring Road.
We cover every drop point in Delhi and the Delhi NCR. Your specific address — not a general "Delhi" but your hotel, your home, your terminal gate, or your platform entrance — is what we deliver.
Specify your terminal at booking; the driver drops at the specific departure terminal kerb. Plan 6.5–7.5 hours from Dehradun door to IGI check-in for safe connections; we track the drive time and advise on the latest safe departure time.
NDLS has two entrance gates: Paharganj and Ajmeri Gate; specify your platform entrance at booking. For Shatabdi or Rajdhani trains, buffers of 45–60 minutes at the station are recommended. Hazrat Nizamuddin (NZM) also covered.
Lajpat Nagar, Greater Kailash, Hauz Khas, Saket, Vasant Vihar, and Chattarpur are all standard drops. The Baghpat/NH 48 route is often better for South Delhi drops in evening traffic. Driver knows major hotel access roads.
Covered at the same fare as Delhi; includes Cyber City, DLF phases, Sohna Road, and NH 48 belt. Gurgaon drops via IGI Airport are possible to clear the Delhi border efficiently. Manesar available at a small supplement.
Connaught Place, Karol Bagh, Paharganj, Old Delhi, Civil Lines, and Rohini covered at standard fare. The Lal Qila area is congested; driver knows the most accessible lane for your specific drop address.
Sector 18, 62, 75, and Noida Expressway covered at standard fare. The NH 58 / Delhi Meerut Expressway approach enters Delhi near Akshardham, making it directly convenient for Noida. Tech park campus access gates known.
The 300 km Dehradun–Delhi drive is one of the most-travelled intercity routes. In best conditions it takes 5.5 hours. In worst, it can take 8. Here is what happens between the two ends.
The driver arrives at your specified Dehradun address — home, hotel, or office — at the confirmed departure time. No airport-style meeting point; the car comes to your door. For afternoon departures, you will receive a 30-minute advance call.
Haridwar is on the standard highway and is a natural stop for a Ganga dip, Har Ki Pauri ghat, or a tea break before the plains begin. A 20–30 minute stop adds no significant time and is popular. If not stopping, Haridwar is bypassed.
Roorkee is the first major refuelling and chai stop on the route. The bypass is fast and clean. The Ganga Canal (built 1854) is crossed just before Roorkee — worth a glance from the bridge.
By Muzaffarnagar the Shivalik hills are behind you and the flat western UP plains stretch to the horizon. This is the standard lunch stop for early morning departures — the driver knows reliable dhabas on the bypass. The road south to Meerut is the most variable section for traffic.
The Delhi–Meerut Expressway (NH 58) is a 6-lane access-controlled highway with a 110 km/h limit. This 60-km section can be driven in 35–45 minutes in clear traffic — the fastest 60 km of the journey. Toll is ₹115 (included in fare).
Once inside Delhi, the final stretch depends on your destination. Noida and East Delhi are accessed directly from the NH 58 end. South Delhi, IGI Airport, and Gurgaon require crossing the Ring Road or NH 48. The driver drops at your specific address. Luggage offloaded, GST invoice to your email.
Understanding the journey segment by segment helps plan your departure time and manage expectations about variable sections.
| Segment | Distance | Typical Time | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dehradun → Haridwar | 54 km | 55 min | NH 7; flat after Rishikesh junction; optional Har Ki Pauri stop 20–30 min |
| Haridwar → Roorkee | 36 km | 40 min | NH 334; fast bypass; Ganga Canal crossing; IIT Roorkee town |
| Roorkee → Muzaffarnagar | 65 km | 60–75 min | NH 334; state highway; sugarcane belt; Shamli district; some town traffic |
| Muzaffarnagar → Meerut | 60 km | 55–80 min | Most variable segment; town traffic and highway mix; worst in late afternoon |
| Meerut → Delhi (NH 58 Exp) | 60 km | 35–50 min | Delhi–Meerut Expressway; 6 lanes; 110 km/h; fastest section; toll included |
| Delhi border → IGI Airport | 30–40 km | 40–60 min | Via NH 48 / Ring Road; worst in 5–8 PM; better via Baghpat approach for West Delhi |
| Dehradun → Delhi (total) | ~300 km | 5.5–7 hrs | Best: 5–6 AM departure; worst: 3 PM Friday departure in summer. Plan for 6.5 hrs. |
The Shatabdi train takes 5 hours and is excellent — if your destination is near a metro line and your luggage is manageable. The intercity bus terminates at Kashmere Gate ISBT — adding another hour to reach Gurgaon or IGI. The pre-booked taxi starts at your house and ends at your specific Delhi address without intermediate transit legs or shared vehicles. Essential for families with luggage or early-morning needs.
App-based outstation cabs use surge pricing on Fridays, Sundays, and holiday weekends. The fare shown at booking time is not guaranteed. A TaxiBazaar fare is quoted, confirmed, and locked at the time of booking — it does not change for Diwali weekend traffic or the March–April rush. What you are quoted when you book is what you pay when you arrive.
The stretch between Muzaffarnagar and Meerut is the most unpredictable segment. Our drivers know the Muzaffarnagar bypass options and the alternate routing via Shamli and Baghpat that can cut 30 minutes when NH 58 is congested. This is not information from a map app set to “fastest route” — it comes from doing this drive multiple times every week.
Many passengers connect to a flight at IGI or a train at NDLS. We calculate the safe departure time honestly at booking: connection time, typical drive duration, and terminal approach time. For an 11:00 AM IGI flight, the car needs to leave Dehradun by 3:00 AM for a comfortable connection. We tell you this at booking, not when you are in the car.
The optimal window is 5:00–6:30 AM: you clear Haridwar/Roorkee before pilgrimage traffic, pass Muzaffarnagar before midday rush, and hit the Expressway by 10 AM. The second good window is after 9:00 PM (night drive). The worst time to leave is 2:00–4:00 PM on a weekend. Friday afternoons in summer are the single worst departure slot; avoid if possible.
"I had a 10:30 AM international flight from IGI T3. The advice at booking time was to leave by 1:30 AM. I thought they were over-cautious and left at 1:45 AM. We arrived at T3 at 8:15 AM, which felt comfortable, but there had been a 40-minute delay near Muzaffarnagar due to a truck accident. Without that buffer, I would have been at the airport by 9:00 AM, which is not comfortable for international check-in. The honest advice at booking was the most useful part."
"We are a family of six including elderly parents. The Shatabdi requires getting to the station at 5 AM, then metro from NDLS to South Delhi with everyone's bags. It was getting worse every year. We switched to TaxiBazaar Innova four years ago. The driver comes to the house at 6 AM. My mother-in-law can take her time. We stop at Roorkee for chai and Muzaffarnagar for breakfast. We are in Lajpat Nagar by 1 PM. No one is exhausted. This is now simply how we travel."
"I travel Dehradun–Gurgaon every 3 weeks for work. I tried Shatabdi + metro, then Ola Outstation (surge on Fridays was ₹5,200+), then TaxiBazaar. It has been consistently ₹3,800 for the Dzire regardless of the week. The driver for most of my trips is the same person — they remember preferences (no music in the morning, one stop at Roorkee, no calls on speaker). None of this was asked explicitly. For something you do every 3 weeks, that consistency is genuinely valuable."
"TaxiBazaar is transforming global ground transportation with innovation and scale."
